Description
Waxsol Ear Drops (10ml)
Waxsol contains the active ingredient docusate sodium (0.5%), which acts as a surface agent, allowing water to penetrate the hardened waxy build-up inside the ear. This action causes the wax to breakdown, making it easier to remove naturally.
If the build-up of wax is excessive and requires flushing or syringing, using Waxsol Ear Drops will effectively help to soften the blockage prior to treatment. This is particularly true for earwax that is very hard.
Earwax is a natural secretion of the ear. It is produced by the ceruminous gland, which is located in the ear’s external auditory canal. This secretion mixes with excretions from the sebaceous glands, skin cells and hair to create a substance called cerumen. Cerumen is the technical name for earwax.
Earwax is designed to keep the ears clean, acting as a protective layer for the ear and ear drum, trapping dirt, bacteria and viruses as it travels from the middle ear to the outer ear. Once the wax has completed its journey to the outer ear, it is expelled by the body. Sometimes excess wax can be produced, which often results in hearing difficulties and pain within the ear. Ear drops, such as Waxsol, help to soften the earwax, helping it to make its way out of the ear(s).
Waxsol is different from other wax removing products. Whereas others soften the wax by using oils (olive, nut or almond), Waxsol contains Docusate, that allows water to penetrate into the hardened wax. It is therefore suitable for those with nut allergies.
